CSR TEAMBUILDING ACTIVITIES
Events that do more than bring people together. They give people a reason to.
The best team experiences don’t just build camaraderie, they put your company’s philanthropic values into action in ways people can see, feel, and remember. CSR teambuilding events are uniquely powerful because they ask employees to contribute to something bigger than their day-to-day work. The result is deeper engagement, greater pride and loyalty in their employer, stronger connections across teams and departments, and a shared sense of purpose that outlasts any offsite.
Community Service Concierge designs and facilitates social impact programs that span many different philanthropic pillars, from hunger relief to global health to workforce equity. But the activities we love most don’t start with a category, they start with a question. “I wonder if there’s an event that could…” That’s exactly the kind of brief we were built for.
ACTIVITIES BY PHILANTHROPIC CAUSE
GLOBAL IMPACT
Energy Poverty, Climate & Sustainability
Hour of Power
Over 660 million people live without electricity around the world. Children can’t study after dark, and families struggle to meet basic needs such as cooking, lighting and heating. Participants assemble solar-powered lights and write personal letters to the children who will receive it. The event culminates as every completed light is switched on one by one, filling the room with a powerful visual of what your team has built together and the futures soon to be illuminated.

Power Up — Bright Futures Bundle
In energy poverty zones, families spend up to 40% of their income on dangerous fuel-based lighting and children study by candlelight…or not at all. In teams of 4, participants assemble “Bright Futures Bundles”: solar-powered kits that provide clean lighting, USB charging, and portable headlamps to a family in need. Each participant also writes a personal message of hope to the family who will receive their bundle. Kits are distributed through SolarBuddy’s global network, with monthly impact updates so your team can follow the difference they made long after the event ends.

YOUTH OPPORTUNITY
Youth Mentorship
Future Forward
Millions of young people have big dreams but lack access to the professionals who can help shape them. For many students, a single conversation with a business professional can shift their entire perspective on what’s possible. Your team is paired with local youth from programs for facilitated mentoring conversations on topics like effective communication, navigating technology, teamwork, and the habits that drive professional success. These aren’t lectures, but rather, genuine exchanges where your team shares insights and the students bring fresh energy and curiosity of their own.
YOUTH OPPORTUNITY
Financial Literacy
The Case Files
Financial literacy remains one of the most underleveraged life skills in America, with millions of young people growing up without the tools to budget, save, or plan for their future. Working in small groups, participants crack open sealed case files on fictional characters at financial crossroads — from a 16-year-old cashing their first paycheck to a 52-year-old protecting a portfolio built over decades. Teams work through different characters, uncovering habits, blind spots, and missed opportunities buried in bank statements, handwritten notes, and witness accounts. Part detective story, part financial masterclass. Every insight uncovered connects directly to financial literacy lesson plans donated to a local school, and teams close the event by preparing tip sheets on what they wish they’d known about money sooner.

ECONOMIC OPPORTUNITY
Workforce Equity & Women’s Empowerment
Keys to Success
For many women entering or re-entering the workforce, the challenge isn’t just landing a job, it’s rebuilding confidence and navigating the process without a strong support system. Your team creates “Keys to Success” kits designed for women on that journey: thoughtful interview tip sheets built from real-world advice, a handcrafted beaded bracelet and keychain, and a personal message of encouragement from each participant. Every completed kit is donated to an organization like Dress for Success, delivering practical guidance and human connection at a critical moment.
YOUTH OPPORTUNITY
STEM Education
Boot Up
Millions of students in underserved communities are growing up without the foundational tech skills they need to compete in a digital world. Coding isn’t just about access to computers, it’s the problem-solving and critical thinking that prepares young people for virtually any path they choose. Your team assembles and donates coding computers to local youth that support coding challenges powered by Blockly all the way up to Python programming.

BASIC NEEDS
Hunger Relief

Fill the Gap
Over 47 million Americans, including 1 in 5 children, face food insecurity, unsure of where their next meal is coming from. Working at tables in assembly-line format, your team measures, fills, seals, and labels nutritious, shelf-stable meal bags for local food banks. Each bag contains six to eight servings. In a mere hour or two, a group can collectively pack thousands of meals.

The Hunger Equation
Food insecurity isn’t simply about missing a meal. It’s the result of systemic barriers — impossible budgets, unpredictable emergencies, and assistance programs riddled with obstacles that prevent the very families who need help from accessing it. Teams work to help a fictional food-insecure family survive one week, navigating interconnected challenge rounds: budgeting household income, planning meals from a food bank inventory, managing unexpected crises, and finding their way through a maze of community assistance programs. Every round is grounded in real data. The experience culminates in a facilitated debrief where teams surface the forces behind food insecurity together. For groups that want to go further, an optional food pack-out turns that understanding into a tangible donation for a local food bank.
BASIC NEEDS
Children’s Basic Needs
Sole Purpose
Over 1.4 million children in the U.S. experience homelessness each year. Using fabric markers, paint pens, and stencils, your team personalizes shoes with colors, patterns, and messages of encouragement for children currently experiencing homelessness. The activity builds to a moment that lands every time: the full collection of finished shoes laid out together, a burst of color and care that represents far more than footwear. Each pair is donated directly to a local shelter or youth program.

GLOBAL IMPACT
Restoring Independence
Restoring Reach
An estimated 3 million people worldwide are living with the loss of an arm, and the vast majority lack access to a prosthetic. Working in small groups, participants assemble prosthetic hands through the LN-4 Hand Project: the same durable, low-cost design distributed in over 100 countries since 2005. Each completed hand is delivered in a case customized with messages of hope from your team, a tangible reminder that the work of your hands will directly restore independence to someone across the globe.
GLOBAL IMPACT
Clean Water Access
Clear Impact
Nearly 2 billion people — 1 in 4 worldwide — lack access to safe drinking water, leaving families vulnerable to waterborne disease and communities trapped in cycles of poverty. Working in small groups, participants assemble water filters: proven, low-cost filtration systems delivered to communities around the world. Each completed filter provides clean drinking water to 10–12 people for a minimum of 10 years. Every participant writes a personal note to the family who will receive their filter.
